Minokawa

In Philippine folklore, notably among the Bagobo ethnic groups of Mindanao, the Minokawa is an enormous, dragon-like bird. In the past, people thought eclipses might be explained by a monster so large it could swallow (or cover) the sun. It is also portrayed as a big bird by the name of Minokawa that flies beyond the sky and has the power to devour the sun, moon, and earth.
